Special Education Program Approval and Improvement Process
In accordance with the Individual Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), the school districts of School Administrative Unit 38 (Hinsdale, Monadnock Regional, and Winchester) are required to actively seek, identify, and provide service to students with disabilities. School Administrative Unit #38 has an on-going Child Find Program designed to locate and identify all persons ages birth through 21 who may be educationally disabled. Referrals from parents, early childhood programs, physicians, and the statewide early intervention program constitute the bulk of newly identified children in School Administrative Unit #38.
