Welcome to Kindergarten

During the kindergarten year students will be engaged in a wide variety of activities that will help them develop many skills. We will be working on fine motor, gross motor, auditory, visual and language skills. Children will learn the letters of the alphabet and develop an understanding of letter/sound relationships. They will be introduced to written communication skills through drawing and inventive spelling. In math children will learn about the calendar as they begin to develop an understanding of time sequence. Children will also become aquainted with numbers and number value as they participate in a variety of activities within the Everyday Math Program.

Please be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the page to view some of the children's work.

During the first week of school students drew pictures of themselves. Their artwork was hung around the Old Woman's shoe.
While making pepper plants for Peter Piper, the children practiced cutting on a curved line as well as cutting out a shape.
As the children learned about circles, they created these cute mice for our Hickory Dickory Dock display. Each child cut his/her circle, folded it in half, added an ear, eye and tail to complete this project.
